ASUS has finally launched their latest UMPC, the R50A. Generally it looks pretty much the same like a PSP, however with the price tag of $2,000 strapped to this device, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t treat it as your PSP anymore.
With ASUS pricing their UMPC at such exaggerating price, I’m pretty sure you would be wondering what kind of power-packed specifications that it will carry.
Here are the specifications for the R50A:
1.33GHz Intel Atom processor 32GB SSD hard drive 1GB of RAM 5.6'' screen displaying 1024 x 600 resolution microSD slot 3 USB ports Wireless keyboard Bluetooth 3G 802.11 b / g WiFi And there is even an external DVD reader / writer!
I don’t quite understand the logic behind ASUS’ strategy when pricing this device at such high price. Generally, you can purchase 4 netbooks with $2,000 and best of all, the netbooks runs on 1.6GHz Atom processor which is faster.
Anyone got $2,000 to spare?
