Conventional rotational drives have just been given a life extension, whereby the roadmap for these drives have been disclosed recently, and it shows that hard drive manufacturers plan to ditch out super fast drives, which spins at an extraordinary rate of 10,000 to 15,000 RPM.
Generally, the roadmap shows that hard drive manufacturers are in the midst of producing a 900GB storage drive, which has 10,000 RPM. Also, the drives will be based on the 2.5 inch size, which can be outfitted into laptops. Apparently, there might also be a 300GB model, whereby this particular drive will come with a rather speed rotational speed of 15,000RPM.
Surely, these drives might not be available for consumers anytime soon, but I believe that once hard drive manufacturers release these drives to consumers, I’m sure it will sell like hot cakes.
Would you like using a 15,000RPM drive?
