NEC to Produce Processors for 12 Megapixel Camera Phones |
Just when Samsung announced to the world that they have the world’s highest megapixel inside their camera phone, NEC unveiled their plans to produce processors for 12 megapixels camera phones. Apparently, the chips feature a linear shift-invariant (LSI) technology which enables mobile phones to shoot 12 megapixel imagery.
On the other hand, the processor will also feature other technology such as image stabilizer and shading correction technology as well.
Of course, I’m pretty sure other manufacturers would be interested in the LSI chip and word on the street points out that the samples would be shipped out as early as March 2009.
